Apostles Islands Informational Meeting Print E-mail

Consider joining us for four days of adventure in the Apostles Islands National Lake Shore. Called the Jewels of Lake Superior clients will see wind swept beaches and cliffs, visitors experience where water meets land and sky, culture meets culture, and past meets present. The 21 islands and 12 miles of mainland host a unique blend of cultural and natural resources.  Lighthouses shine over Lake Superior and the new wilderness areas.

We visit the fascinating sea caves, along the main land and on Sand Island. Formed by years of wave actions the caves offer a unique opportunity for kayakers.  Just a short distance from shore they afford us a chance to paddle in and around rock formations.  This perspective is only available to small boats, such as kayaks.  Don't miss a perfect opportunity to visit this wonder of nature with new friends.  Join us on a fun filled, unique Adventure Weekend.

We will hold an informational meeting on January 31 at 3:00 pm at our 7212 North Alpine Location.   If you're considering going you should attend this meeting. We will review the itinerary and discuss trip logistics.  We will have a slide show of previous tours and will answer any questions you may have.  We are giving $50 discounts to those that sign up during this meeting.

We look forward to seeing you.

XC Skiing & Snowshoeing Print E-mail

We have added  Cross Country skiing and snowshoeing to Rock Cut State park for winter activities.  Instead of sitting inside on snowy days come out to the park and burn off those Christmas calories. Cross Country skiing is supposed to work the same muscles as kayaking. So, you kayakers out there won't have to be all stiff and creaky in the spring time. I can think of no better way to enjoy the beauty of Rock Cut during winter than by skiing or snowshoeing the trails.

Rock Cut grooms the skiing trails for both traditional and skating style of skiing.  We have bought some very nice traditional skis and snowshoes.  We are offering lessons on weekend and snowshoeing doesn't require a lesson, for those that know how to walk. We will be open Fridays through Sundays and on Holidays from 8:30 to 4:30, when there is snow.

We have added in chili or soup and hot beverages. Plus we have a warming room to help you stay warm. Come out, enjoy the winter  and have fun doing it.
