Terms and Conditions

Limitations of Liability: These paragraphs (including the Release and Assumption of Risk section of the application), define our responsibilities with respect to all our trips. Payment for a Paddle and Trail, ltd. trip represents your acceptance of the following terms and conditions. Please Read Carefully.

Paddle and Trail, Ltd. gives notice that some services connected with trip itineraries are provided by suppliers who are not affiliated with Paddle and Trail, Ltd. and over whom we have no direct control. All arrangements for transportation, meals, accommodations and/or all related travel services have been made by Paddle and Trail, Ltd. only as an agent. We will do our best to make the these arrangements with reputable suppliers, but only upon the express condition that Paddle and Trail, Ltd. shall not be liable for any delay, mishap, inconvenience, expense, irregularity, bodily injury or death to person, or damage to property due to the conduct or default of any company or individual providing these services.

Paddle and Trail, Ltd. shall not be liable for: (a) Expenses such as additional hotel nights and meals not specified in the itineraries which may be incurred either en route before or after the trip, when caused by your travel arrangements, airline scheduling or airline schedule changes, canceled flights, missed flight connections, or by other factors not within Paddle and Trail, Ltd control. (b) Bodily injury or property damage, for any reason including but not limited to acts of God, weather, quarantines, strikes, civil disturbance, theft, default, detention, annoyance, changes in government regulations, or failure of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, etc., over which we have no control. Paddle and Trail, Ltd. reserves the right to decline to accept, or to retain from further participation, any person we judge to be incapable of meeting the rigors and requirements of participating in the activities, or any person whose actions impede trip operation or the rights, welfare or enjoyment of other participants on the trip. Paddle and Trail, Ltd reserves the right to take photographic or film records of any of our trips, and may use any such records for promotional and/or commercial purposes.

Reservations & Deposits: A 20% non-refundable deposit with your completed application will reserve a place for you. You may charge your deposit by credit card over the phone. We will then send confirmation of your Reservation, Trip itinerary, Medical form, Release and Assumption of Risk form, Travel information, Travel Insurance information and an Equipment list. The balance and all signed paperwork are due 60 days before the trip departure. Reservations made within 60 days of trip departure require full payment at the time of booking. We accept credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) for your deposit. The remaining balance may be paid by check or credit card.

The price includes: Listed meals, transportation from our first meeting day until the last day, lodging and camping (included in the itinerary), storage of luggage, group equipment such as stoves, pots and pans, tents, rescue equipment, all sea kayak related equipment such as boats, paddles, spray skirts, life jacket, first aid kit, repair kit, reindeer etc., unless otherwise stated in the itinerary you receive.

The price does not include: Passport fees (a passport is required, tourist Visas are not required for stays up to three months), air fare, transportation from airport to starting location, airport fees and taxes, accident and travel insurance, optional tipping to our guides, meals not included in the itinerary, alcoholic beverages, medical fees, personal equipment, individual services apart from the group, personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls etc.

Cancellation, Transfer and Refund Policy: The non-refundable deposit assures you a spot on the trip. The balance of the trip cost is refundable up to 60 days prior to the trip departure. Should you cancel less than 60 days prior to the trip, a refund (less the nonrefundable deposit) will be returned only if you, or Paddle and Trail, Ltd. can fill your space. All notification of cancellations must be received in writing. If you transfer from one trip to another more than 60 days before departure (of the trip you are transferring from) the Transfer fee is $50.00. If you transfer within 59 days of departure, you are subject to the Cancellation policy outlined above. We recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance. No refunds will be given for unused lodging, meals, transportation, entertainment events and other services once the trip has started.

Trip Cancellations or Changes: Paddle and Trail, Ltd reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to the departure date for any reason, including insufficient booking or logistical complications which may prevent our ability to operate. If we are unable to provide another trip that is satisfactory, we will refund all payments, including the deposit. This refund shall release Paddle and Trail, Ltd of further liability. We are not responsible for additional expenses such as non-refundable "Advance Purchase" air tickets. Cancellation of a trip due to insufficient booking would normally occur at least a month prior to departure. We reserve the right to alter the itinerary. Tour arrangements are sometimes made up to a year in advance, and unforeseen conditions that mandate change may arise.

Participants Responsibilities: All participants are responsible for choosing the trip that best suits their skills, interests and abilities. We have different types of guided experiences in an effort to help you choose the one that is most appropriate for you. Participants are responsible for being in sufficient health and physical fitness to join the trip. Participants are also responsible for being fully informed of all trip information and for bringing the appropriate equipment and clothing. Consumption of alcohol is not permitted within five hours of any on-water activity or backcountry hiking.

Insurance: We recommend you protect yourself with travel insurance in case of an emergency cancellation or unforeseen circumstance. This will cover your losses on nonrefundable air and land costs if you cancel due to illness. We recommend the Protect Assist Plan with Travel Guard International. This plan also covers trip delay, baggage, medical expenses, emergency medical transportation and more. We assume no liability whatsoever for damage, loss or delay of property including baggage. All participants must have health insurance and carry an insurance card or information with them during the trip.
