**Strongly Suggested Gear

Clothing: We have to dress for the water. Fortunately we are heading to the lake with current water temps around 65 degrees. Please plan to wear a wet suit or other suitable exposure paddle clothing in the event of capsize.

Hydration: The first line of defense against hyperthermia and hypothermia is hydration. Staying properly hydrated will help slow the on set of these conditions. You should drink plenty of liquids while paddling. Water works, but diluted sport drinks work better. They replenish needed electrolytes to keep the body working efficiently. We prefer deck or pfd mounted hydration packs that allow you to drink while paddling in rough water. Which ever system you choose, hydration system or bottle, use it.

Snacks: We also suggest keeping a supply of energy bars on board to give you the extra push you may need after paddling to the sea caves.
